THE COACHES’ votes for Round 4 was one tall order from a Carlton perspective.

It was no surprise that it was the Blues’ bigs which dominated the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year votes from the Good Friday SuperClash.

Perhaps even less surprising was that Carlton’s two key forwards couldn’t be split.

Both Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay recorded nine votes from Michael Voss and Alastair Clarkson on a day where they did the damage on the scoreboard.

For the fourth time in his career, Curnow notched up six goals, while McKay kicked four of his own while recording a career-high 14 marks.

Another Blue who recorded the best numbers of his career, another tall in Mitch McGovern received three coaches’ votes for his 27-disposal performance (11 of those intercepts).

He was well supported by defensive counterpart Jacob Weitering (one vote), who kept Nick Larkey - who led the Coleman Medal coming into the game - to five disposals and 0.1.

Zac Fisher broke the run of Carlton key-position players recording votes, receiving two in game No.99 for a performance where he rewarded the faith of his coaches with 28 disposals in a greater midfield role.
