PRODUCING the most disposals in a glittering career so far, Carlton captain Patrick Cripps has received a perfect 10 coaches' votes.
In first polling performance on the year, Cripps accumulated a career-high 42 disposals in a blistering effort at Giants Stadium, as well as contributing 20 contested possessions, 13 clearances and 11 score involvements.
In what was a gritty and tough win by the Blues, it was Cripps who led from the front, using his leadership and physicality to bring his team along for the ride.
Nic Newman was awarded eight votes for his dominant lockdown role on Toby Greene, which saw the danger man held to just one goal and five disposals: the least the Giants captain has had in a completed game in his career.
Along with his 11 marks and nine intercepts, Newman - who didn't lose a one-on-one contested - also used his influence in attack, utilising 24 disposals and operating at 88 per cent disposal efficiency.
Teammate Sam Docherty picked up four votes for his performance, where he gathered a career-high 39 disposals on a day where he played a number of roles.
Swapping his customary half-back position for a midfield role after half time, Docherty contributed 10 score involvements - including a second-quarter goal - and gained 517 metres with his disposals.
Rounding out the votes for the Blues was Adam Cerra, who scored three votes for his performance which saw him swap roles with Docherty at the main break.
After 11 centre-bounce attendances in the opening two quarters, Cerra was stationed down back in the second half, and his adaptability held him in good stead: he ended the day with 28 disposals and set the Blues up with his ball movement in all areas of the ground.
