The momentum behind Carlton’s newest supporter group, Young Carlton Professionals (YCP), continued to build last night as YCP held its second networking event at the historic Raheen.

In a big week for the Carlton Football Club, one in which Jeanne Pratt was named 2013 Victoria of the Year and the Club broke through a record 50,000 members, over 120 YCP Members and guests descended on the 19th-century Italianate mansion in a memorable night for the Club.

Australian sports journalist and YCP advocate Andy Maher hosted a Q&A with dual Brownlow Medalist and former Club Captain Chris Judd, before Mike Fitzpatrick, a dual Carlton Premiership Captain and current Chairman of the AFL, addressed the packed crowd on the importance of networking and his journey through football and business.

In recognition of the late Richard Pratt and the Richard Pratt Cup, being contested on Friday night between Carlton and Collingwood, the YCP Executive Committee auctioned a framed # 3 Carlton jersey, signed by Mike Fitzpatrick and current Club Captain Marc Murphy, with the proceeds being donated to the Richard Pratt Fellowships in Prostate Cancer.

In addition to the guest speakers, other notable attendees included former Carlton Premiership Coach David Parkin and Carlton Football Club Players Jarrad Waite and Rob Warnock as well as several former Carlton Football Club Players and members of the Carlton Board.

YCP is hosting its third networking event on 23 August 2013 – a Business Breakfast to be held at PricewaterhouseCoopers. For information about how to join YCP or for tickets to the Business Breakfast, please contact the Executive Committee at ycp@carltonfc.com.au.
