A HANDFUL of AFL-listed Blues will gain valuable game time in tonight’s VFL practice match against Port Melbourne.

Taking place at IKON Park from 7:30pm, Jack Martin and Mitch McGovern have been named to front up for the Carlton Reserves a week before the commencement of the AFL season.

Both players took part in match simulation in Melbourne last week while the AFL side clashed with Sydney in Blacktown.

There will also be hitouts for Matthew Owies and Marc Pittonet, who made their returns to AFL action in that practice match against the Swans: Pittonet also featured for the Carlton Reserves a fortnight ago in his comeback from knee surgery.

Josh Honey, who has featured in both senior practice matches, rounds out the selections from an AFL-listed perspective.

Of the Carlton Reserves, Liam McMahon will feature with his new side for the first time after arriving in the off-season from Collingwood’s AFL list.

Having committed to the Carlton Reserves at the end of last year, familiar face Luke Parks will also be back in action, while exciting young defender Tyreece Leiu also returns for his first game of the 2023 pre-season.

Gates open from 7pm, with entry free for all via Gate 6.
