Carlton defender Michael Jamison has confirmed he plans to play out his career in the navy blue.
The 27-year-old inked a new three-year deal last week, to keep him at Carlton until at least the end of 2017.
Speaking to Croc Media last night, Jamison said even if he’s not offered a new contract after his current one expires, he wouldn’t consider playing elsewhere.
“From day one you always want to be a one club player and it’s certainly a lock for me now,” Jamison said.
“If I was to finish up in three years time, and the Blues have had enough of me and I got thrown another year at another club, I wouldn’t weigh it up and think it would be worth leaving the Blues who gave me this fantastic opportunity.”
Meanwhile when asked about Carlton’s future and who might follow in his footsteps to be 10+ year players for the Blues, two names in particular sprang to mind.
“Menze, (Troy Menzel) as soon as he walked into the club you could see the class that he brought,” Jamison said.
“You knew that once he was able to run out games he was going to be a really clever and special player, and I think we saw that last week when he did get the four quarters under his belt and he kicked three or four goals.
“And I’ll add to that Dyl (Dylan) Buckley who, in my opinion, is definitely a future leader of this club, and if not a future captain. I think he’s come in and he’s shown he’ll be another 10+ year player.”
