THE TEAM is in for Carlton VFLW’s first practice match against Port Melbourne.
The pre-season hit out will take place tomorrow from 11am at IKON Park and will be perfect preparation for the VFLW Blues as they face Port Melbourne in Round 1 of the 2023 season.
12 new Blues will take to the field for the first time, including Christina Bernardi who featured in the AFLW sides’ Round 5 game in Season Seven.
Millie Klingbiel and Maddie Di Cosmo will feature in the team after placing first and third respectively in the 2022 Club Best and Fairest, alongside other returnees including 2022 captain Ally Bild, Thomay Nicolaou, and Esther Honeybun.
Carlton’s VFLW side will be looking to build some confidence in the upcoming practice matches after a season of mixed results including four wins and one draw in 2022.
Tomorrow’s game will be played over four 18-minute quarters, with entry free to the public.
