2022 WAS a fantastic year for Carlton in the community.

Through a number of initiatives, and still confronted by the ever-changing challenges of COVID-19, the team ensured all programs continued to engage, support and celebrate the growing Navy Blue community.

Among the key achievements in 2022, the Carlton Community team were able to successfully launch the 'Road to Respect' digital learning platform in late October.

Road to Respects, a part of the Club's Carlton Respects initiative, will be delivered to schools across Australia in 2023 and is centred around prevention and positive impact, stopping disrespect at the start by having an impact in young people’s lives and aiming to grow a society where violence is eradicated.

The platform has been designed to align with the Victorian Government’s Department of Education and Training’s ‘Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships’ (RRRR) curriculum and focuses on four key sessions: managing emotions, bullying and help-seeking, being a buddy and gender stereotypes as well as values and respect.

2022 also saw the Adam Saad Pathways program grow in participants and impact.

First established in 2018 during Saad's time at Essendon, the Adam Saad Pathways has quickly grown into one of Carlton’s key programs after being implemented at the Club in 2021.

This year, the program saw multicultural boys and girls from over 17 different backgrounds take part in the Adam Saad Academy, the Saad High-Performance Program and the inaugural Adam Saad Schools Cup.

The Club also took further strategic steps to ensure it is consulting, supporting and collaborating with community leaders, individuals and organisations from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

After a few years of activity restrictions, the Club successfully achieved various milestones while the third Reconciliation Action Plan was in development.

The Community team also continued their work on:

  • Carlton Respects awareness-raising initiative
  • The Carlton Respects Work Charter
  • Community and charity engagement
  • Community requests

The Carlton Football Club would like to thank the players, staff, community, corporate partners and fans for the ongoing support towards the community programs in 2022.
