IN A nod to tradition, Carlton and Richmond will once again open the 2023 Toyota AFL Season on Thursday night at the MCG.

The Tigers and the Blues opened every season between 2015 and 2021, before a Grand Final rematch between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs took the spot earlier this year.

But the rivalry will be renewed in the opening game of 2023, played at the MCG on Thursday, March 16.

Carlton fans have a lot to look forward to in the AFL season opener, with 2022 Brownlow Medallist Patrick Cripps and 2022 Coleman Medallist Charlie Curnow set to excite fans from the opening siren.

Those fans looking to get an early look at the ‘Baggers ahead of the 2023 season are invited to join us at IKON Park on December 14 at open training.
