CARLTON ruck Breann Moody has been named in the 2022 season seven AFLW All-Australian team.
This is the second time Moody has received an All-Australian blazer, with her first selection coming in 2021.
The 25-year-old has established herself as one of the most dominant rucks in the competition, and in seven of ten rounds in season seven she found herself winning more hitouts individually than the opposition rucks combined.
She averaged over 22 hitouts this season, ranking third in the league, with her career-best performance against Richmond in Round 8 resulting in 33 hitouts won.
Moody elevated her game even further in season seven as she spent more time in the forward line and came away with six goals as a result.
Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro said Moody’s All-Australian selection was well deserved after a consistently strong season.
“It is wonderful to see Breann acknowledged for an outstanding season, and the whole program is immensely proud of her efforts,” Munro said.
“Breann had another outstanding season in the ruck, and she was able to take her game to a new level. She has worked hard to not only elevate her ruck craft, but also added forward skills which proved very beneficial to the team this season.
“To see Breann recognised with her second All-Australian selection is a great individual achievement and a fitting reward for the dedication she puts in. Her application on and off the field is at an extremely high standard and she puts the team first, but tonight is about the individual honour, and Breann truly deserves to be named a two-time All Australian.”
