A RIDE for respect.
The Navy Blue lycra - with some customary orange - will be present for all to see in Healesville on Friday 25 November in the inaugural Ride For Respect.
The corporate cycling day will take in the beautiful surrounds of the Yarra Valley, with festivities starting from 7:45am and running until 3pm. The day includes a bike ride (short, medium or long), post-ride lunch, a special guest panel and networking opportunities.
A day that will “literally take your breath away”, the Ride For Respect is taking place to raise funds for Carlton Respects, the Carlton Football Club’s flagship community initiative.
Speaking to Channel 9, avid cycler - and former Carlton fan favourite - Matthew Kreuzer said the day marked an opportunity to show their support for a worthy initiative in a different way.
“Any keen cyclists out there that want to come along for a ride, jump on,” Kreuzer said.
“We’re raising funds for a great program and it’ll be an enjoyable day.”
Kreuzer’s passion for being on the bike came in his playing days, using it as a rehabilitative measure in his comeback from injuries.
“It’s something I’m pretty passionate about.”

Kreuzer will be joined on the day by a number of special guests, including Matt Keenan.
The renowned cycling commentator, who has been a regular feature of the Tour De France’s annual coverage, said a bike ride can be an easy way to open a difficult conversation.
“The great thing about cycling is - sometimes for men - it’s hard to talk about issues,” Keenan said.
“If we’re riding side by side, I don’t have to make eye contact, but we can have a conversation about emotions before pointing out a pothole. It’s easy to have those conversations.”
