TWO Blues continued their exceptional individual seasons in Round 6, earning AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year award votes in the process.
With a team-high 23 disposals and 13 intercepts respectively, Abbie McKay and Mua Laloifi each received four votes each in Carlton’s encounter with GWS.
Adding to a career-best campaign, McKay was once again the pre-eminent ball magnet for the Game Changers in the middle of the ground, winning the ball out of the middle while also putting pressure on the opposition.

Congrats, Tay!
Seven of McKay’s 23 disposals were clearances while she also laid eight tackles, having a direct involvement in five of Carlton’s seven scores. She is now averaging over 21 disposals from her six games so far this season.
Laloifi backed up McKay with another strong showing in defence, holding firm in a game where the Giants recorded 38 inside 50s.
A week after amassing a Carlton record of 14 intercepts, Laloifi went one shy of the tally in an enthralling battle with Cora Staunton.
Operating at 88 per cent disposal efficiency, 13 of Laloifi’s 16 possessions were contested, while she also totalled three rebound 50s.
