The Carlton Football Club is proud to unveil its season seven Indigenous guernsey ahead of AFLW Indigenous Round.

The design is the same artwork that featured on the Indigenous guernsey in season six, but with a twist.

The colours have been altered to focus more on the blue and navy tones, where the season six design had a lighter colour palette.

Designed by 18-year-old Indigenous artist Brooke Sutton, the artwork represents the Carlton Football Club, its journey, its players and its supporters.

The artwork features a large community symbol which represents the entire Club, and the players and coach are also represented as people symbols on the front of the guernsey.

‘The Mighty Blues’ has a symbolic coming together of the AFLW and AFL sides through two community symbols, and the shields behind them symbolise the battle about to take place on the field.

Arches are used throughout the design which depict the various stadiums and football fields the team will play at during the season, and the coloured arches represent the spectators who support the AFLW each week.

The guernsey has been launched with ADCO Constructions, the Official Partner of all Indigenous advocacy, education and awareness-raising activities, including standing up to racism and improving cultural awareness.

Carlton will wear the design during its home Indigenous Round fixture in Round 3 against Port Adelaide and will also warm up in a t-shirt specially designed for the round.

The limited edition shirts feature the full design of ‘The Mighty Blues’ artwork on the front and come in navy or white and will be available exclusively at The Carlton Shop.
