MAKE it the MCGene.

With KISS in town for the End of the Road World Tour this week, it’s only fitting that the God of Thunder pays a visit to the home of football.

When Gene Simmons fronted up at Melbourne Airport on Wednesday morning, speaking to the Today Show about the prospect of visiting a Blues game while in town, tongues were - literally - wagging about the prospect.

So, in a game touted as one of the biggest home-and-away games in recent memory, who else could there be to deliver the match-day Sherrin with such style in front of a raucous MCG crowd?

It’s not the first time that the members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been immersed with Carlton. In 2003, each member of the band were pictured with Carlton guernseys, while Simmons himself shared in a kick with some of the Blues’ favourite sons back in 2008.

The Sherrin will once again be in Simmons’ hands when he delivers the football to the umpires prior to the 3:20pm bounce, just hours before he takes to Rod Laver Arena in front of yet another sell-out crowd.

Both KISS weekend shows are sold out, with tickets still available for their final-ever show in Melbourne on Tuesday 23 August: you can find all the details here.

With a capacity crowd full of both Navy Blue and black and white, it’s safe to say the MCG will be rocking - and rolling - all night.
