BUZZING.

That’s how CEO Brian Cook defines the feeling around the Carlton faithful and the Club right now ahead of Sunday’s clash with the old enemy.

Looking to secure their first AFL finals appearance since 2013, Cook is buoyed by how much support the Club has received this year and the clear passion and faith from the Carlton fanbase.

Noting this week is nothing but ‘huge’ for the Club, Cook is grateful that the Club can be in this position after not being in this position over the last decade.

“This week is huge because we haven’t played a finals game since 2013,” Cook said.

“You can tell by the buzz amongst our fans, our members, just how big it is.

“You can tell by the roar of the crowd of the weekend and the passion in the stands just how much it means to people.

"Since the game, I pass people in the street and they’re still very forthcoming on how they feel about the Club – it’s a huge week.”

With both Carlton’s AFL and VFL teams up for a finals spot depending on Sunday's results, the Club is certainly in work mode, with all eyes looking towards the home of football in five days time.

Cook was adamant that there was no need to talk about the Club’s achievements until their season is over, not wanting to pull focus while there’s still football to play.

“I think it would be better for us to define our season at the end of the season, not right now,” he said.

“We have got 100 per cent energy towards the weekend.

“Hopefully it’s a few more weeks after that but I’d be very happy to talk to anyone at the end of the year about what success looked like for the year and what failure might look like, just wait for a while.”
