ADAM Saad has received six coaches' votes for his performance against Richmond on Thursday night.
Playing a dynamic game across half-back despite an eye injury in the opening minutes of the game, Saad was a weapon on both sides of the ball for the Blues against a strong Tigers outfit.
The highlight of Saad’s game was the 15 intercepts he provided for the Blues - a game-high number for the defender - as well as contributing nine contested possessions and 25 disposals.
He enhanced his reputation as the run-and-carry king of the AFL competition with a career-high 15 running bounces for the contest, belying the wet conditions to be an offensive threat for the Blues to turn defence into attack in a heartbeat.
Another defender featured among the votes, with Sam Docherty continuing his polling form in 2022.
Registering the solitary vote in the clash with Richmond, Docherty gained a huge 748 metres (a team-high) with his 10 rebound 50s, relentlessly trying to keep the ball out of dangerous territory.
Docherty’s leadership in the backline couldn’t be denied, as the defender picked up 31 disposals and nine intercepts, producing an inspirational final quarter in particular to try and will his team over the line.
