Carlton will welcome its latest crop of Bluebaggers to its list in what will be a historic day for football tomorrow.
The 2016 NAB AFL Women’s Draft will be held in Melbourne with the Blues set to add 19 new players to the AFLW team.
Carlton holds the third overall pick and players selected in the first round will be presented on stage.
The Blues are among eight clubs to have a women’s line-up with Adelaide Collingwood, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, Brisbane and Greater Western Sydney also competing in the inaugural season, which kicks off in February 2017.
The eight teams will draft the majority of its players with 145 players selected in total. Depending on their number of pre-signed players, each team will selected between 15 and 19 new recruits.
Carlton's new Blues will join current marquee players Darcy Vescio and Brianna Davey, priority pick Lauren Arnell as well as rookies Nat Exon and Kate Shierlaw to the AFLW list.
The Draft will follow a ‘snaking order’ after the first round.

The remaining three places on the Club's list of 27 will be filled through ‘free agency’. Free agents are those players who have nominated for the draft but were not selected and may now consider options to play interstate. Free agents must be selected prior to October 31.
