CARLTON AFLW defender Mua Laloifi has signed on for another two seasons with the Club.

Laloifi came to the Game Changers with pick no.52 in the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft and has been a key member of the Club’s defensive stocks ever since.

She featured in all 10 games last season and had a career-high 16 disposals and 11 kicks during the Round 9 clash with Greater Western Sydney.

The 28-year-old is part of a formidable trio in the Carlton backline, teaming with Kerryn Peterson, Paige Trudgeon and Gab Pound to form a strong defence that opposition teams often struggle to break through.

Laloifi is ready to start Season 7 the way Season 6 ended – on a high.

“I have enjoyed my time at Carlton so far and it only made sense to continue with the Blues for another two seasons,” Laloifi said.

“The team is heading in a great direction and we’ve got such a positive group of people around us that makes the Club a happy place to be.

“We ended last season in a really strong position and we’re hopeful we can continue that form into Season 7 which is just around the corner.”

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro says Laloifi’s energy is something other players can’t help but be drawn in by.

“Mua is a key member of our defence so it is fantastic to have her with us until 2023,” Munro said.

“She brings such positivity to the program and inspires others around her to work hard, and that type of energy is exactly what we’re looking for.

“Mua always puts in the work and that dedication translates into on-field performance, and we’re looking forward to some more strong showings from her and the entire defensive group across the next two seasons.”
