CARLTON has ended the AFLW Sign and Trade period with two top-10 Victorian selections after executing a pick swap with Hawthorn.
Carlton received national first-round selection pick No.18 (Victorian pick No.9) in exchange for national selection picks No.25, 28 and 55 (Victorian picks 12, 14 and 31).
The Club heads into the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Draft with five selections, two of those in the first-round, one in the second and a further two in the fourth.
Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro says having two national first round selections opens the door to an exciting range of possibilities.
“It was always our intention to head into the Draft with as many picks as possible in the Victorian top-10 and this pick swap allows us to do that,” Munro said.
“Having two top-10 selections in the Victorian pool will enable us to access some of the best possible talent to add to our list.
“We have put ourselves in a strong position heading into the Draft and look forward to welcoming some fresh faces to the Game Changers.”
