CARLTON captain Kerryn Harrington has been named in the AFLW All-Australian side for a third time.
The final side was announced at the W Awards with Harrington being recognised after a season of strong performances in the backline.
The Blues’ skipper previously received All-Australian honours in 2019 and 2020 as she elevated herself to one of the elite defenders in the competition, and the 30-year-old only improved her skills this year.
Her season-best performance came in Round 2 where she recorded a career-high 23 disposals at 100 per cent efficiency against the Cats, breaking her own record which was previously set in 2020.
Harrington rounded off a stellar campaign with career-high totals for disposals (143), kicks (97) and marks (35) and her impact was felt right around the ground.
Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro said Harrington’s consistency as an elite performer and ability to work seamlessly with her team of defenders has been outstanding in 2022.
“It is fantastic to see Kerryn awarded All-Australian honours for the third time in her career,” Munro said.
“Her work rate is second to none and she constantly stands up in our defensive 50. Kerryn is the heart and soul of this team and leads the side with passion and purpose every week.
“She is a constant performer and can always be counted on to play the team game. Kerryn has truly earnt this honour and we couldn’t be prouder of her as a player and leader of our Club.”
