ADAM Cerra will round out Carlton’s midfield when he returns in Navy Blue on Sunday.

After missing the Round 2 win over the Western Bulldogs due to AFL Health and Safety Protocols, Cerra returns to the MCG for the Blues’ home clash with the Hawks.

It’ll be the first time that Cerra joins all of Patrick Cripps, George Hewett, Matthew Kennedy and Sam Walsh in Carlton’s on-ball brigade, after Walsh missed the season-opening win against Richmond.

After being the activated medical sub last weekend, Lachie Plowman has been added to the starting line-up as a defensive addition alongside club debutant Lewis Young, taking the places of the injured Oscar McDonald and Mitch McGovern.

Lachie Fogarty has been omitted. He is joined by Jordan Boyd, Jack Martin and Luke Parks as the emergencies for the clash, with one of those players to take on the role as sub.

Should Boyd be named as sub, it will also mark his AFL debut after being taken in the mid-season draft in 2021.

Having triumphed the last time these two sides met, Carlton is looking for its first batch of consecutive wins over Hawthorn since 2004-05.

Sunday’s game at the MCG begins at 1:10pm AEST. Carlton fans will have the chance to farewell Eddie Betts and Marc Murphy half an hour before the bounce, so make sure you head to the home of football early on Sunday afternoon!
