Carlton midfielder Dale Thomas has been charged by the Match Review Panel for striking Sydney’s Jeremy Laidler in the Blues’ final NAB Challenge game on Friday night.
Thomas’ two-match sanction can be reduced to one match with an early plea.
Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Swans, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to the head. The incident was classified as a two-match sanction.
With Thomas not having an applicable record, an early plea enables him to accept a one-match sanction.
Meanwhile, Andrew Walker has been charged with wrestling Laidler during the first quarter.
Walker’s $1500 sanction can be reduced to a $1000 sanction with an early guilty plea.
Thomas and Walker have until Tuesday to accept or challenge the sanctions.
