CARLTON has made one change for its final home-and-away game of the AFLW season.
The Game Changers have welcomed back Lucy McEvoy, who missed last weekend’s win over Gold Coast due to calf tightness.
Spending more time in defence across the 2022 season, last week was the first game that McEvoy has missed this campaign, having otherwise been an ever-present for the Blues.
She will provide further defensive solidity for the Game Changers alongside captain Kerryn Harrington and the in-form Mua Laloifi and Gab Pound, who have starred in recent weeks.
They’ll have their work cut out for them against a high-flying Melbourne outfit that recorded the competition’s highest-ever score last weekend against Fremantle.
McEvoy takes her spot in the side in the place of Brooke Walker, who has been omitted.
It’ll be the first time that the Blues meet the Dees since the final round of the 2020 season, when the Game Changers accounted for their opponents in a resounding come-from-behind win in Alice Springs.
In doing so, Maddy Guerin and Elise O’Dea - who have been named in the forward pocket and on the bench respectively - will play for the first time against their old side.
Saturday night’s game begins at 7:10pm AEDT from Casey Fields.
