SIX BLUES will get game time under their belts in tomorrow’s AFL and VFL hitouts. 

The first order of business begins at 12:50pm, when the Carlton Reserves take on the Casey Demons. Sam Docherty has been named to feature in the opening clash, in a heartwarming sight for Bluebaggers and football fans everywhere. 

Docherty will be joined by Jack Carroll at VFL level, who missed last weekend’s action. 

Then, at Marvel Stadium tomorrow night, Coleman Medallist Harry McKay is one of a number of returning Blues for the final dress rehearsal before Round 1. 

Tom De Koning and Jack Martin join the Carlton talisman in their first hitout of the year, while Lewis Young will feature in his first senior appearance for his new club.

Charlie Curnow, Jacob Weitering (both rested) and Brodie Kemp (calf tightness) will miss on Thursday night, with all three sitting out of the AAMI Community Series clash with the view to being fully fit for Round 1 in a fortnight's time.

Lachie Plowman could feature at either VFL or AFL level after being named on the extended bench, with final teams for the AFL clash to be announced prior to the bounce. The nature of the pre-season clash means teams can name a squad of up to 26.

Matthew Cottrell, Ed Curnow and Luke Parks are also named as inclusions on the eight-man bench at senior level: Alex Mirkov, Jack Newnes and Sam Philp come out of the side which featured against St Kilda.

The AAMI Community Series game at Marvel Stadium kicks off from 7:20pm. Tomorrow’s VFL match at IKON Park begins at 12:50pm, with entry free for all spectators (enter via Gate 5). 

There will be no live stream of the VFL game, but coverage will be provided via the Carlton Reserves social channels and on carltonfc.com.au.
