Carlton players attending the 2009 Brownlow Medal will show their support for the Victoria Police by wearing a Victoria Police Remember badge on their lapel during the count.

The badge of remembrance is a show of support for officers of the Victoria Police who have fallen in the line of duty and to also acknowledge all serving members of Victoria Police and the work they do to keep our community safe.

Marc Murphy said he was pleased to be in a position to wear the lapel badge to show support for Victoria Police.

“Being such a public event the Brownlow provides us with a great opportunity to help promote Victoria Police and the outstanding support they provide the community. I guess it is the ideal fit to with the Blues supporting the Blues.”

Everyone is encouraged to purchase a badge of remembrance from police stations, newsagents, 7-Eleven Stores, RACV outlets and selected RSL Clubs throughout Victoria in support of Blue Ribbon Day on Tuesday September 29th.

Blue Ribbon Day is organised by Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation.

Money raised during Blue Ribbon Day will be used to build new and improved emergency facilities in Victoria’s public hospitals, named in memory of fallen officers. It’s Victoria’s way of remember lives by saving others.
