THE TEAM is in for the first VFLW game of the 2022 season. 

As Carlton take the trip down the highway for its clash with Geelong, there will be a lot of familiar faces running out in Navy Blues.

From an AFLW perspective, it'll be the first time this season that Brooke Vernon and Imogen Milford feature in a clash for points this season, with Milford making her debut for the Blues in the process. 

Maddy Guerin , Charlotte Hammans, Annie Lee and Poppy Schaap will also feature in the team, having featured in the senior side earlier in the year. 

Named as emergencies for the senior side, Hammans and Lee have both been included for the VFLW season opener. One of these players will come out of the selected line-up as the travelling emergency for the Game Changers' trip to Optus Stadium.

Skipper Ally Bild will lead out the side for the second year in a row, while VFLW regulars Jorja Borg and Stephanie Lawrence will also return, after both placing in the top 10 in last year's club Best and Fairest.

There will be nine VFLW-listed Blues playing their first games for the Club, which can be found in italics below.
