AFLW clubs: Carlton
Carlton debut: Round 5, 2021
Recruited from: Eastern Ranges (VIC)
Despite taking a season away in 2022, Serena Gibbs’ capability continues to be felt around IKON Park.
In her three games in 2021, she showed herself as a player for the future. The tall forward featured in three games at senior levels in in the second half of the season, with a pair of goals against Geelong in her first game at IKON Park the highlight.
Also capable of pinch-hitting in the ruck, Gibbs is a troublesome match-up for opposition defenders, backing herself in the air to either bring the ball to ground for her teammates or mark it herself. The former Eastern Ranges product will no doubt be looking to build on her hat-trick of games, having now had the taste of AFLW football.
Draft history: 2019 NAB AFLW Draft 3rd round selection, No.44 overall.
