Saturday 11 February is going to be huge - public transport is the way to go!
Ikon Park will host a double-header on Saturday 11 February and with Carlton’s Family Day preceding the AFLW Round 2 matches, we recommend catching public transport to both events.
Carlton’s Family Day will be held at Northern Lawn, Princes Park from 12:45pm to 3:00pm.
Carlton’s Women’s team will face GWS at 3:35pm (Gates open at 2:00pm) and Collingwood will take on Melbourne from 7:40pm (Gates open at 6:15pm).
See below for all the public transport info you need to ensure you arrive on time.
Via metropolitan train:
Patrons are advised to catch a train to Melbourne Central Station or Jewell Station (Upfield line) before connecting with Route 19 trams.
Alternatively, patrons can catch a train to Royal Park Station (Upfield line) followed by an approx. 15 minute walk to Ikon Park.
Via metropolitan tram:
To cater for the crowd heading to Carlton’s Family Day, additional tram services will operate on Route 19 between Flinders Street Station/Elizabeth Street (Stop 1) and Princes Park/Royal Parade (Stop 16) from 11:30am to 3:30pm.
Before and after both AFLW matches, additional services will operate on Route 19 between Flinders Street Station/Elizabeth Street (Stop 1) and Princes Park/Royal Parade (Stop 16) from 4:00pm to 7:30pm and again at 9:00pm to 11:00pm.
The following tram routes also run close to Ikon Park:
- Route 1(South Melbourne Beach - East Coburg) trams operate to Lygon Street/Richardson Street (Stop 117) and it is an approximately 5 min walk to the stadium.
- Route 8 (Toorak - Moreland) trams operate to Lygon Street/Richardson Street (Stop 117) and it is an approximately 5 min walk to the stadium.
- Route 55 trams (West Coburg - Domain Interchange) operate to Royal Park Station/Royal Park (Stop 26) and it is an approximately 15 min walk to the stadium.
Additional Shuttle buses:
To arrive at Ikon Park:
For your convenience, express shuttle buses will operate from 2:00pm and 7:30pm between the Elizabeth Street tram stop (Stop 1) and the Princes Park/Royal Parade tram stop (Stop 16) located right outside Ikon Park.
To depart from Ikon Park:
Express shuttle buses will operate from 5:00pm to 10:30pm between Stop 16 (opposite Ikon Park) and Lonsdale Street/Melbourne Central Station.
Via metropolitan bus:
The following bus routes will take Patrons close to Ikon Park, but please be aware that services may terminate prior to the end of the match:
- Route 504 (Moonee Ponds - Clifton Hill via East Brunswick).
- Route 505 (Moonee Ponds - Melbourne University via Parkville Gardens).
- Route 546 (Heidelberg - Melbourne University - Queen Victoria Market via Clifton Hill and Carlton).
