Carlton has landed Caleb Marchbank and Jarrod Pickett from Greater Western Sydney in the closing stages of the 2016 NAB AFL Trade Period.
Marchbank and Pickett joined Carlton in a complex deal which saw the Blues also receive the Giants' future second-round pick. That pick was then on-traded to Hawthorn for picks 48, 66 and 70.
The Blues handed the Giants their future first-round pick received from Geelong in the Zach Tuohy trade, as well as picks 45 and 58.

“Caleb’s management made it clear to us that he was keen to return to his home state and we were really pleased he nominated Carlton as his preferred destination,” Silvagni said.
“Both Caleb and Jarrod were top ten overall draft picks in 2014 and are clearly in the age bracket our club has identified that will contribute to our sustained list depth.
“They are young, exciting players with great potential. We have no doubt they will develop and grow under Brendon Bolton and the Club’s extended coaching panel.”

Hailing from the Murray Bushrangers, Marchbank was Pick No.6 in the 2014 AFL National Draft and has played seven senior games. The 19-year-old has averaged 19 disposals and seven marks per game from 17 NEAFL matches since arriving at the Giants.
With the ability to play as a small forward or through the midfield, Pickett was recruited from South Fremantle and was the No.4 overall draft pick at the 2014 AFL National Draft.
