Arch-rivals Carlton and Collingwood will go to battle again on Saturday night for the eighth annual Richard Pratt Cup.
With one in nine Australian men falling victim to prostate cancer in their lifetime, the Cup aims to raise awareness of the disease and honour the memory of former Carlton President Richard Pratt, who lost his battle against prostate cancer in 2009.
Preceding the first bounce, Carlton members and supporters touched by prostate cancer will form a guard of honour on the field, while all spectators will unite in 32 seconds of applause to show their support for the 32 men diagnosed with the disease each day.
Approximately 3,300 men pass away with prostate cancer each year, making it the No.1 killer among Australian males.
It is vital that all Australian men are proactive towards their prostate health. The Richard Pratt Cup urges males particularly above the age of 50 to speak to their local GP about prostate cancer.
