Everything “sounds better in Italian”, according to Carlton’s digital and social media coordinator Julian Trantino.
To celebrate the AFL’s Multicultural Round this Saturday when we take on the Pies, Julian will be tweeting the game and all the highlights in Italian.
A passionate Blues supporter, Julian joined Carlton in January.
He learnt Italian at De La Salle College and later at Monash University, but had a head start with his Italian roots.
His grandparents moved to Melbourne in the 1950s from southern Italy, and his grandfather began barracking for the Blues, mainly because he loved the great Sergio Silvagni.
The colour blue is also synonymous with Italy: their national soccer team is called the ‘Azzurri' - Italian for Blues!
So to keep up-to-date with all the action in Italian, follow Julian’s tweets @CFC_Community.
You can also catch Julian on Rete Italia with Tony Tardio this Friday at 10.30am – make sure you tune in to 1539 on the AM band.
