Carlton's main playing group has entered another week of training, with the focus on building endurance after some tough sessions in recent weeks.
Monday's session was centred on skill execution and defending fast. The message to "defend fast" was driven by the coaches, in particular Rob Wiley, who emphasised the importance of getting the balance right between attack and defence.
Irishman Ciaran Byrne impressed late last week on the training track, earning his right as the "trainer of the week", a competition that has been running for the past few months amongst the team.
Dylan Buckley, Ed Curnow and new blue Jason Tutt were also impressive on Monday, executing their skills and showing "team first" qualities.
After some work on the track the team completed the day with rotations consisting of weights, conditioning and game education sessions.
We’re all counting down until the NAB Challenge series begins with our first match against West Coast in Mandurah.
