Cooler temperatures and rain greeted the players as they wrapped up their final training session for the week.
Carlton's Dale Thomas says it's been nothing but hard work on the track and Friday was certainly no different.
"Today was a pretty solid hit-out," said Thomas.
"We had a 2km time-trial and then into a big skilled-session. The boys have come back in really good nick, and we're picking up from where we left off (before the Christmas break)."
The Blues utility, who finished 2014 having played 20 games in the Navy Blue, says he's so far revelling in a consistent pre-season.
"I haven't missed a session thus far," Thomas said.
"Touch-wood that I can continue to do that. I'm just really enjoying being back out there with the boys and setting some lofty goals, and we're working really hard to try and achieve them.
Thomas says that as a group, they're aware of that challenges that lie ahead and are focused on tackling them head on.
"The boys understand that there is a lot of hard work ahead of us," said Thomas.
"But we're all committed to putting our best foot forward and trying as hard as we can to make sure that come Round One, we're ready to roll."
And who's caught Thomas' eye thus far in 2015?
"I think Liam Jones has been very impressive since we've been out on the track," Thomas said.
"And I also think big Rob Warnock is running better than ever. He's covering the ground and obviously with his height he's going to be a valuable asset.
"Another one of the big boys Matty Kreuzer is looking fantastic and showing some of us little blokes up in the running – so he's flying which is good to see."

Dale Thomas says the Blues have been putting in the hard yards on the track since returning from their Christmas break.
