At Carlton’s Board meeting last night, Mark LoGiudice officially took over from retiring Stephen Kernahan as the next president of the Carlton Football Club.
Mark LoGiudice has been a lifelong Carlton member and a supporter for more than 19 years of the ‘Carltonians’, Carlton’s original and longest serving coterie group.
He is the Managing Director of Crawfords Group, a family-owned investment and development company, involved in commercial, industrial and retail property.
Further to his property interests, Mark is a Director of Premier Fruits Group, a national farming, marketing and logistics company.
LoGiudice, who was appointed to the Carlton Football Club Board in February 2010, says he is humbled to lead Carlton into the next phase of its illustrious history.
“The Carlton Football Club has been one of my lifelong passions,” LoGiudice said.
“My goal is to help deliver the next chapter of sustained success, both on and off the field to give us all renewed reason to be passionate and proud. This includes in the immediate future securing more home games at the MCG, further reducing the club’s historical debt, and ensuring we have the necessary resources in place to rise again.”
“I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Stephen Kernahan. He is a legend of our club who has offered tremendous leadership and guidance. “Sticks” is a man who wears his heart on his sleeve, and has kept our football club focused through some very challenging times.
“On behalf of the Board I would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to Stephen for all his hard work and dedication over his 29 years of consecutive service. We wish him all the very best.”
With the recent departure of CEO Greg Swann, a Board sub-committee has begun the search for a new Chief Executive Officer; with global recruitment firm Egon Zehnder assisting in the process.
The interim CEO responsibilities will be shared between Carlton’s General Manager of Football Operations Andrew McKay and Chief Financial Officer Jason Reddick.
