Carlton has suffered another injury blow, with Andrew Carrazzo joining the list of players ruled out for the rest of the season.
Carrazzo suffered a calf injury in the Round 19 match against Fremantle.
Carlton's General Manager of Football Operations Andrew McKay says the injury needs time to heal.
"Andrew's had a bit of a setback with his calf, which is disappointing for him," McKay said.
"What it does do is it enables him to get both of his calves right for next year. It's obviously a huge bonus for us getting him on the field with his leadership and his skill on the field, so we're looking forward to having a good year with him next year."
It comes after Chris Judd and Matthew Watson suffered season-ending injuries in the weekend's loss to the Western Bulldogs.
McKay says Judd injured the medial ligament in his knee.
"He (Judd) will be in a brace for a couple of weeks and then will start rehab after that. I guess the one shining light is that it won't affect his pre-season, so expect him back better than ever for 2014."
Watson suffered a fracture in his foot, but McKay says the young defender will also be right for the pre-season.
While Jeff Garlett came of the ground with a corked glute in the same match – McKay says the small forward is likely to face a fitness test on Friday.
In better news for the Blues, Patrick McCarthy is on the cusp of returning from his long-term foot injury, while Matthew Kreuzer will be tested at training and is also a chance to return.
